May Workshop:

Dialog:

At the May meeting we will discuss dialogue and explore how it can make or break your story. Please bring one page of dialogue from your writing and a surface to write on.

In romance, dialogue is probably the most important element of the story. In most cases it makes up over 80% of the story. It is what establishes goals, motivation and conflict seamlessly throughout the story. It develops your character and moves the plot along. It can take your hero and heroine from being forgettable to a multidimensional character that lingers in your readers’ minds.

Wendy Burge Bio:

Wendy has been a member of RWA since 1995, when she decided she wasn’t going to put it off anymore, writing that book she always dreamed of. After having won two national contests, she sold the first two books she wrote, Love Me Again (Oct 02) and While You Slept (Feb 03), to Kensington out of the slush pile. Her books have placed in numerous national contest and even won a few.
